Absolutely recommended. We were pleasantly surprised. Very particular location, the restaurant is in fact housed in a former convent from the 1500s of which the structural and architectural aspects are preserved. Typical cuisine with quality and native raw materials. Simple but attentive service, fair value for money. We took 1 Caserta platter for 2, crostone with lard, first 1 pappardella with ragù and 1 plate of fusilli with broccoli cream, sausage and flakes of ricotta; 1 portion of mixed grilled meat, 2 bottles of water, cover charge and bread, 83. It was worth every single . See you soon!

Restaurant located inside an old monastery.Very attractive location as there are still paintings from the 1100s!The portions were very generous and in fact we were unable to finish everything on the plate. We took the meatballs as an appetizer, still made with grandma's recipe and in fact they were amazing. As a first course we had the pappardelle with walnuts and pine nuts and the fusilli with black pig sauce and stracciatella. What can I say, nothing to comment other than eating with your eyes closed and enjoying this journey. We thank Fiore for his support during this lunch, he kept us a lot of company and we really appreciated it!

Very nice and welcoming place in the historic center of old Caserta. It's the first time I went there without reading reviews. Very friendly staff, excellent service and more than excellent food. From the land appetizers to the Caserta platter. We had first courses with homemade tagliatelle and grilled meat, in particular black pig sausage with potatoes. Very good... the choice of desserts is also very wide.

Beautiful restaurant in a place rich in history. We ate very well, both the starters and the dishes were good. Good service. The only negative note was the wine, a very unpleasant Aglianico by the glass.

An unique and unforgettable experience. Food's quality exceptional for a low price and a very welcoming and kind host. One of the best places in Southern Italy. Highly recommend.

A truly beautiful location. In the past it was a convent. We ate very well and the waiter was very kind and courteous. The only flaw, at a certain point a typical summer storm arrived and we were left to ourselves in the porches of the restaurant, then the owner arrived and in a rude manner told us that since it's raining he can't risk having the only waiter who got sick and so we (there were several tables occupied) had to go inside, without an umbrella obviously!!! A truly absurd situation. However, apart from the total lack of organization in case of sudden rain we had a very good time.

We didn't know what to do for the day of the Befana, we opted for Caserta Vecchia and relied on the internet to search for the restaurant where to have lunch, where "Mastrangelo" was among the top for reviews... luck smiled on us!Warm and welcoming environment, attentive and friendly staff, a quiet and peaceful place to spend a good day of celebration in company. We all had the same starter for two people where the parmigiana was a real pleasure. For the first course I recommend the pappardelle with white wild boar and white wine... a unique delicacy. Little choice of desserts among those left but the warm chocolate heart was a good choice.I also recommend it for what we paid, just over 30 per person... and we ate a lot. We will be back for sure

We ate two delicious soups and were served with great care and friendliness by the manager. The wine by the glass was also very good and the homemade desserts were superb. Excellent quality/price ratio.
